The lower level garden areas are now finished and the top coat of back-fill is used to cover the water tanks and waste pipes. The shuttering has been placed to help protect the stone walls from any falling rocks. We have installed the electrics for the jacuzzis and the water pipes for the pool shower and garden water taps. We have compacted the top soil, placed all the steel rods and poured the final coat of concrete for the patio area surrounding the swimming pools.
The block-work is now finished, we then render the swimming pool walls and screed the pool base.
It is important to cut away the render around the pool light and inlet valves so that the fiber-glass resin has good contact.
The final structural part of the project are the swimming pools. We have leveled the base and compacted the soil ready for a thin layer of concrete. This gives us a base to work on. A steel mesh is constructed of 12mm steel on top of which we pour approx 20cm thick concrete.
The base is now finished and we are laying the blocks for the sides of the swimming pool.
This is the traditional system for building Lanzarote swimming pools and is used all over Spain. This construction system has been used by Lanzarote Builders for many years.
The second villa has now been rendered and had its first coat of paint.
The block work for the stairs and balconies has bean completed and ready for rendering and we are currently shuttering up the top of the plastic membrane to keep the damp out of the basement.
The plasterers have started on the first villa.
The plaster is sprayed on to the surface of the blocks under extreme pressure and then leveled.
The plasterers then have only a few hours to work until the plaster sets hard.
Then a very fine second application is applied by hand to give the final high quality finish.
The stairs on villa one have been shuttered and poured so we now have access to the basement through the rear of the villa.
The external stairway that connects the swimming pool area to the lower garden area is also finished.
The rendering on villa one is finished and we have given it one coat of paint for protection.
Villa 2 – On the secand villa we are building the internal walls, installing the elctrical conduet and fitting the door and window frames ready for rendering and plastering.
The villas are now ready for the external rendering and the internal plastering to begin. We have finished building the internal walls and fitted the timber pre-frames for the internal doors.
The roofs have been rendered and water proofed with a fine fiberglass mesh and rubber paint,
We have started to put on the first coat of plaster to pad out the walls, we will then apply a final top coat to give us the desired finish.
We apply a yellow resin to the concrete columns, this helps the render to stick to the smoother surfaces.
